Martin Guggisberg

While covering the election of Miss Bern Ost, Martin Guggisberg developed a passion for all kinds of beauty pageants proliferating in Switzerland: Miss Tourism, Miss Do-It-Yourself, Miss Tuning, Miss Disability, etc. The photographer traveled Switzerland to document these competitions as would an ethnographer. Featured for the first time at Espace Images, the Miss series accounted for a phenomenon symptomatic of an age where desire for glitter and recognition by the image are ever more widespread.
