When not busy working as an education officer in Brussels, Vincen Beeckman plays mini-golf. This game, which is more of a family pastime than an official sport, has fascinated this Belgian photographer since he was a child. He has now combined work and leisure to portray an offbeat view of the mini-golf universe in various countries. Vincen Beeckman found inspiration and wit in the layout of the courses and their features, such as artificial streams, little houses or even a hippopotamus’ mouth.

At Festival Images Vevey, his pictures are exhibited on a life-size nine-hole putting green built specifically for the biennale. This is a truly immersive experience into the heart of one of pop culture’s favourite ‘crazy’ games.

Exhibition layout and design by Images Vevey and the artist, with the precious collaboration of the scenographer Samyra Moumouh.
