With To Be Held By The Earth, Abdulhamid Kircher continues his work on masculinity, drawing inspiration from the complex emotional bonds that unite members of his paternal lineage. The artist examines the demonstrations of tenderness and fraternity in a singular environment: oil wrestling in Turkey. He documents the world in which the wrestlers live, revealing signs of affection and moments of vulnerability. The installation bears witness to a deep bond between men fostered by a centuries-old tradition.
The installation *To Be Held By The Earth* is on display at the Musée Jenisch in Vevey alongside the other winning projects of the Grand Prix Images Vevey 2025/2026.
