Regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, Zinedine Zidane is at the heart of an extraordinary film project by Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno. On 23 April 2005, the two artists deployed 17 synchronized cameras exclusively trained on the Real Madrid player for ninety minutes, capturing his glances, his movements and his doubts. Screened twenty years after its release, the film paints an intimate portrait of a legendary figure and reveals football’s unique role in bringing together families, generations and entire nations.
