A pioneer of appropriated imagery, Erik Kessels returns in 2026. Known for his signature large-scale installations comprising multiple images, the artist focuses this time on a single, deeply personal image. At eleven years old, his nine-year-old sister was tragically killed in a traffic accident. In the painful aftermath of their grief, his parents searched through family albums for the final photograph ever taken of their daughter, which became a symbol of their memory of the child. One Image offers a meditation on loss and pays tribute to a sibling bond that was suddenly cut short.
