The project tenersi stretto subtly addresses Alzheimer’s disease and the profound upheaval it brings to a family. Lisa Bertoldi portrays in it her grandparents, who suffered from the condition. Conceived as a diptych, it blends staged scenes, altered family archives, fragments of conversation and collages, confronting the erosion of memory with the strangeness of reality. The installation defies the illness by attempting to preserve, as far as possible, the emotional bonds that remain.
