Interstellar Nights documents a moment that is as intimate as it is universal: the end of Mario Wezel’s son breastfeeding. Over five nights, the photographer places a thermal camera above his bed and captures the mother, the child, and the father every two minutes, like three celestial bodies in motion. By repurposing a technology often associated with public surveillance, Wezel reveals a unique and tender series of 1,800 images exploring fatherhood, bonding and care during the first few months of life.
