A leading figure on the contemporary art scene, Vik Muniz rose to fame by repurposing various objects and materials to reproduce well-known images. For Album, he collected numerous family archives belonging to anonymous individuals, found at flea markets, categorized them by subject matter, and meticulously assembled them into entirely new, large-scale compositions. The installation nostalgically recalls the practice of pasting photos into albums, guardians of memory and foster the passing of memory between generations.
