Riverboom rase de près

Riverboom is a collective founded in 2002 by three war reporters on a moonless night in a valley in north-western Afghanistan. It is in this valley infested with wolves, bandits and Taliban that the impetuous Boom River flows. The collective is made up of photographers, writers, journalists, graphic designers and filmmakers: Claude Baechtold, Edoardo Delille, Gabriele Galimberti, Serge Michel, Alexandre Tzonis et Paolo Woods.

Riverboom’s motto is a quote from Churchill: ‘Success is the ability to get from one failure to another without any loss of enthusiasm.’

After a decade of long journeys, Riverboom invites you to its hairdressing salon, which has been transformed into a cabinet of curiosities for the occasion. Images, films, anecdotes, furniture, sounds, wallpaper, unusual objects and other trophies brought back from the far reaches of the North Pole to the battlefields of the Iraqi deserts, from the Great Wall of China to the taverns of Texas, from the oil fields of Eastern Siberia to the Chinese immigrant communities of Central Africa: immerse yourself in the wonderful world of Riverboom.

Riverboom 2002 - 2022 GREATEST HITS – COMING HOME

Riverboom was founded in 2002 by aspiring war journalists in a valley in north-western Afghanistan, where the Boom River flows. Over the past 20 years, Riverboom has published books, created exhibitions, produced films and organised parties, while often being the scene of internal strife. The Riverboomers are Italian and Swiss, but above all ‘citizens of the world’: Claude Baechtold, Edoardo Delille, Gabriele Galimberti, Serge Michel, Alexandre Tzonis et Paolo Woods are photographers, filmmakers, graphic designers, journalists and writers. They are taking advantage of the invitation from L’Appartement – Espace Images Vevey to return to Vevey and, like most ageing stars, boast about their now distant ‘Greatest Hits’ by revisiting the five founding principles of their (dys)functioning.
