Lovers, Revisited expands Sunil Gupta’s landmark series depicting same-sex couples through a collaboration with the artist Charan Singh, his husband. In 1984, Gupta captured gay couples in their London apartments. Forty years after Lovers: Ten Years On, Gupta and Singh reinterpret this work. Through portraits of queer partners, they recall the ongoing struggle for the rights of LGBTQIA+ communities since the 1980s, whilst celebrating the plurality of forms that family takes today.
