BREAKS RECORDS FOR ITS 10th EDITION
Salle del Castillo and Château de l’Aile, the epicentre of the Biennale
The 10th edition of the Biennale Images Vevey, themed “We are family!”, comes to a close after three record-breaking weeks for weather, media coverage and attendance!
From 5 to 27 September 2026, 50 projects by artists from 21 countries, all free of charge and produced specifically for the event, transformed Vevey into a city of images and an international meeting point for the visual arts.

The Biennale is a team of 220 people working across programming, production, technical, hospitality, operations, education, communications, catering, signage and administration. Together, they welcomed more than 70,000 people to Vevey in three weeks.
JR: A FAMILY PHOTO OR MORE THAN 1100 FACES
To mark fifteen years of his Inside Out project, JR returned to Vevey with his photo booth during the opening weekend. Locals, visitors, artists, partners and friends of the Biennale joined in, and nearly 800 portraits went up in the Salle del Castillo.
Halfway through the event, 300 new portraits joined the installation. It became a monumental family photo of more than 1,100 faces, a tribute to everyone who has made the Biennale a success over ten editions.
THE HALLMARK: SITE-SPECIFIC AND MONUMENTAL

In Vevey, every work is made to measure and specifically adapted to its surroundings. Images Vevey handles everything in close dialogue with the artists, from curating to designing the projects and building the structures and printing the 2,100 images of this edition.
After three weeks, everything is taken down, except for a few works that stay in place until the next edition. This is what makes the Biennale unique: visitors discover works they won’t see anywhere else, by emerging talents and established names alike.

BEYOND THE BIENNAL
Richard Billingham, Ray’s a Laugh – 30 years
At L’Appartement – Espace Images Vevey, Richard Billingham’s exhibition Ray’s a Laugh – 30 years, curated and produced by Images Vevey and awarded the label of the French Ministry of Culture as part of the Bicentennial of Photography celebrations, remains on view until 14 February 2027.
At the Swiss Camera Museum, Cedric Zellweger‘s exhibition continues until 10 January 2027. During the three weeks of the Biennale Images Vevey, the artist was in residence there, creating one of his photographic tableaux live in front of the public.
In the public space, Vik Muniz‘s Album on the façade of the Hôtel des Trois Couronnes and Erik Kessels‘s One Image on the rear façade of the Salle del Castillo remain in place until the next edition.

The 11th edition will take place from 2 to 24 September 2028 and will mark the event’s 20th anniversary.
